The brief

The city needed a unified Smart transport management system to reduce congestion, enforce traffic law, and give operators one dashboard across 38 junctions and 240 cameras.

The challenge

  • Legacy siloed cameras with no central aggregation
  • Multiple vendor systems with incompatible protocols
  • Mandate for court-admissible violation evidence
  • Tight deployment timeline aligned with Smart City Mission deadlines

What we deployed

  • 240 Spondbyte edge cameras with on-device AI
  • 38 junction controllers integrated via Spondit V2I RSUs
  • 1 unified Command Control Centre with video wall, operator consoles, and SOP automation
  • Road Safety & Surveillance — ANPR, RLVD, SVDS across all corridors
  • VMS — single-pane video management for all 240 feeds
  • Deployment timeline: 6 months end-to-end

The solution architecture

The architecture centres on a hub-and-spoke model. Edge nodes at each junction run real-time inference — ANPR, red-light violation, speed, helmet detection — and stream structured events to the central C3 over encrypted fibre links.

At the C3, the Spondbyte VMS aggregates all 240 camera feeds. Operator consoles display AI-annotated live video with one-click incident drill-down. SOPs trigger automatically on violation events, generating court-admissible evidence packets with tamper-evident hashing.

Quote

"Spondbyte's team did in six months what our previous integrators couldn't in two years. The command centre is now the single source of truth for every violation, every incident, every corridor."
